Digital Constitutionalism Network Teaching Partnership Shortlisted for DVPW Teaching Award 2025

The Digital Constitutionalism Network is delighted to share that the latest edition of its Teaching Partnership, namely the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), “Digital Constitutionalism and the UN Global Digital Compact”, has been shortlisted for the 2025 Lehrpreis Politikwissenschaft, awarded by the German Political Science Association (DVPW) and the Schader-Stiftung.

The Lehrpreis recognises innovative and didactically outstanding teaching projects in political science. In 2025, nearly 30 submissions were received from across the discipline. While this year’s prize was awarded to another project, selected shortlisted initiatives — including the DCN BIP — were invited to present their teaching concepts as part of the DVPW blog series “Herausragende Lehre in der deutschen Politikwissenschaft”.

The 2004 BIP, coordinated at the University of Bremen by DCN member Dennis Redeker, was embedded in the broader activities of the Digital Constitutionalism Network and brought together partner universities across Europe. The programme combined virtual and in-person components and integrated research-based learning with policy engagement. Students collaboratively produced policy briefs analysing the UN Global Digital Compact and participated in international digital governance processes.

The shortlist recognition highlights the Network’s commitment to transnational, interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching on digital governance and human rights in the digital age. Further details, including the full teaching project description, are available via the DVPW blog.
