Congratulations to our DCN members involved in “Fostering Digital Pan-Africanism in AI Governance through Evidence and Action”, a new four-year research and advocacy project dedicated to strengthening pan-African perspectives in AI governance.
The consortium gathered in Bremen on June 29–30, 2026, to establish a shared vision and roadmap for the project, which brings together researchers and civil society organizations across Africa and Europe. Funded by the Volkswagen Foundation with a €1.87 million grant, the initiative will explore how Pan-African perspectives can play a stronger role in shaping AI governance and contribute to a more inclusive global digital future.
We congratulate our members and all consortium partners on this important new collaboration and look forward to following their work! You can find more information on the project here.
