CfA: International Conference on Digital Sovereignty in Conflict

We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the international conference “Digital Sovereignty in Conflict”, organised by the ANR DIGISOV project and the Chair in Digital Regulation at Paris-Pantheon-Assas University.

The conference will take place in Paris on 24-25 March 2027.

It will bring together scholars in political science, sociology, STS, international relations, law, and related disciplines to examine how claims to sovereignty are formulated, negotiated, and contested across different areas of the digital sphere and across jurisdictions, in the context of international rivalries, trade wars, and the resurgence of armed conflicts.

The conference is organised around three main axes:
1. Data and Market Regulation as Sites of Conflict in a Multiplex World
2. Controversies and Crises over Digital Infrastructures and Industrial Strategies
3. The Battle for the Digital Public Sphere

We welcome proposals that engage with these themes from a variety of disciplinary and theoretical perspectives.

Abstracts should be submitted through the conference submission page by 30 October 2026. Proposals should be written in English and not exceed 800 words.
