PhD Candidate, University of Bremen

Imane El Qochairi is a PhD candidate and researcher at the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen. She is part of the research project “Fostering Digital Pan-Africanism in AI Governance through Evidence and Action” and she is affiliated with the ZeMKI Lab on Platform Governance, Media and Technology. Imane El Qochairi holds a Master’s degree in European and Global Studies with a specialization in Communication Policies from the University of Padua. During the winter semester of 2024/25, she completed an Erasmus exchange at ZeMKI, where she wrote her MA thesis deploying a comparative analysis of French and Moroccan media coverage of the 2023 Al Haouz earthquake, focusing on media framing and postcolonial power relations in times of crisis.
