The Centre for Digital Ethics will convene a special public-interest discussion at Trinity College Dublin exploring what it means to protect human dignity, autonomy and democratic values in the age of artificial intelligence.

Taking place immediately following Ireland’s International AI Summit and during Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the event will bring together leading voices from human rights, academia, technology, regulation and civil society to examine a foundational question: what must remain human in an increasingly automated society?

The evening will consider the cumulative effects of AI and digital technologies on human agency, vulnerability, work, democracy, culture and fundamental rights, while asking what meaningful human-centred governance should look like in practice.
