SUMMARY:DCN Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program 2026: Digital Futures\, Sustainable Freedoms: Rights\, Responsibilities and Governance
DESCRIPTION:Dublin City University\, in partnership with the University of Salerno\, the University of Bremen\, the University of Padova\, the University of Groningen and Tallinn University\, will host the Digital Constitutionalism Network’s 2026 Blended Intensive Program on “Digital Futures\, Sustainable Freedoms: Rights\, Responsibilities and Governance”. The programme brings together Bachelor\, Master and PhD students from across the partner universities to explore the legal\, political and societal challenges raised by digital transformation\, with a particular focus on the relationship between digital innovation\, sustainability and fundamental freedoms. Building on previous DCN BIPs held in Padova\, Bremen and Salerno\, the 2026 edition adopts an interdisciplinary approach drawing on law\, political science\, media and communication studies. \nThrough virtual preparatory sessions\, an intensive in-person week in Dublin\, and follow-up online meetings\, participants will engage with key debates in digital constitutionalism\, eco-digital governance\, sustainable innovation and digital policy. Students will work collaboratively to develop research-based policy briefs and posters on issues at the intersection of digital constitutionalism\, digital innovation and sustainability. The in-person component will take place at Dublin City University from 11 to 15 May 2026 and will include workshops\, expert inputs\, group work and participation in the 10th GIG-ARTS Conference. This will provide students with opportunities to present their ideas\, receive feedback from academics and practitioners and engage with current debates on digital governance. The programme aims to equip participants with both theoretical and practical tools for understanding and shaping the twin transition. It also supports the development of transversal skills\, including public speaking\, teamwork\, intercultural collaboration and policy-oriented communication. \n\nTarget audience: Advanced undergraduate\, Master and PhD students in law\, political science\, international relations\, communication\, technology studies and related fields.\nCredits: 3 ECTS\nFormat: Blended intensive programme with virtual and in-person components\nOrganisers: Digital Constitutionalism Network\, led by Dublin City University’s Law and Tech Research Cluster.
