DESCRIPTION:On 6 October 2026\, the Law and Tech Research Cluster of the Dublin European Law Institute (DELI) hosted an event exploring the critical intersection of data centre governance\, strategic autonomy\, and European digital sovereignty. As data centres rapidly become the essential physical backbone of artificial intelligence and the cloud economy\, identifying appropriate regulatory strategies is crucial to securing the EU’s technological autonomy while maintaining market competitiveness. \nFollowing the official opening by the Ambassador of France in Ireland\, HE Céline Place\, the event featured a presentation of the initial findings from the Irish-French Ulysses project “Governing Data Centres\,” led by DELI Deputy Director Dr Edoardo Celeste and Prof Thomas Le Goff of Télécom Paris.
